Our Fire Safety Regulatory department have let me know that we have taken enforcement action against eight shops in 2025/26 but, none were a supplier of e-bikes or a shop which carries out e-bike conversions.

4. Details (if held) of where any e-bike which caused a fatal fire since 2020 was purchased, or which company manufactured it.

Our Fire Safety Regulatory department have let me know the following information in relation to the four e-bike fatality incidents attended since 2020:

  • No confirmation of make or model

  • E-bike purchased from Zoomo, other equipment unknown

  • Battery charger purchased from Amazon, e-bike second hand

  • Remains under consideration by HM Coroner at the present time. Therefore, this could change as it is subject to the outcome of the Coroner’s investigation.
