In 2025 we attended a total of 725 incidents related to water, 42 of those mentioned ‘RNLI’ in either the stop text or final description of the call.
For reference, to obtain this information our Data team used the following search criteria for any incident which is within one of the categories below:

The parent special service type was ‘Person in water or at immediate risk of entering water’
-
The special service type was ‘Other assistance to police/ambulance’ and the final description included the word ‘water’
-
Was attended by the fire boat.
Or:
The initial mobilised incident type was boat, boat stability, boat rescue, rescue from mud, rescue from water or ship sinking, outdoor flooding that required pumping out, excluding burst water mains
and,
The property type selected was one of the below:

Boat
-
Swimming Pool
-
Canal/riverbank vegetation
-
Sewage works
-
River/canal (S)
-
Water works
-
Bridge (but not including those that involve birds)
-
Leisure Centre (only if water or pool is mentioned in the final description)

Ferry terminal

Lake/pond/reservoir

Beach
-
Houseboat (permanent dwelling)

Docks

Cycle path/public footpath/bridleway (if water, river or canal is in the final description).
