Request

The number of times LFB has been asked to remove cock rings. Information broken down by area (London Borough) and by NHS Emergency Department located within 32 London Boroughs over the past 3 years.

Response

By way of background, the LFB do not have a specific incident category for the removal of cock rings. However, we do have a special service (non-fire) incident category of 'Removal of objects from people - Ring removal'. 

Our Data team were able to perform a search of free text recorded in initial 999 call description or incident 'stop code' in this category for the words "penis" or "genitalia". The results were then reviewed to only include incidents where a penis was stuck in a ring of some description. This search method returned the following figures:
