Fire Alarm Issue - Query

Case reference FOI2026/01116

Request

Last August, the LFB attended our address following a similar incident, when a number of smoke alarms in flats (but not neighbouring properties) around Claremont Square/Amwell Street were going off at the same time. Your crew came into our flat to investigate, as our alarm was also sounding despite there being no obvious fire or smoke. We are now experiencing what appears to be the same issue again. Our smoke alarm is activating randomly, without any apparent trigger. What is particularly concerning is that we have again noticed alarms going off in flats in other, separate buildings around Claremont Square at approximately the same time. None of the other alarms within our own building appear to be activating. Given that this has happened before and that your team attended our property last August, I would be grateful if you could check whether there have been similar incidents or false-alarm callouts in the Claremont Square/Angel area, and whether there could be a common external cause. Please could you advise whether this is something you can investigate further?
