FOI release

Appliances at stations

Case reference FOI2026/00364

Received 29 March 2026

Request

Is it possible to tell me what front line appliances you have at your stations I would only like to know if DPL FRU and TLs are stationed.

Response

Please see our response to each of the appliance types in turn below:

DPL

All LFB fire stations, apart from Lambeth River Station, have a Dual Pump Ladder (DPL).

FRU

We do not typically provide a list of fire stations with Fire Rescue Unit (FRU) appliances as, unfortunately, they can be targeted for theft.  Therefore, I would consider providing details about where Fire Rescue Units (FRU) vehicles are located exempt from disclosure under the FOI act under section 31(1)(a) - Law enforcement.  Section 31 is a qualified exemption and I must consider the public interests for and against disclosure. It is sadly the case that fire stations and appliances are targets for crime and the loss of equipment prevents the LFB from carrying out its public safety duties. I am therefore of the view that it is in the public interest not to disclose this information at the detailed level you have requested.

TLs

Information on fire stations that have Turntable Ladders can be found on LFB’s website here:
