A. In the last 5 years, how many wholetime job opportunities have been made available to on-call firefighters (fixed term or permanent) via an internal process or transfer?
B. During your last completed recruitment campaign: How many applications were received in total?
C. How many of those were from ethnic minority backgrounds?
D. How many people were recruited?
E. How many of those successfully recruited as whole time Firefighters were from ethnic minority backgrounds?
F. If possible, How many wholetime firefighters hold a bachelor's degree or higher?
Response
A. London Fire Brigade does not employ on-call firefighters. In addition, we are not able to accept applications from on-call firefighters to transfer to LFB due to there being no on-call opportunities in our service. Any on-call firefighters wishing to join LFB as a part-time or full-time firefighter would have to apply via our external campaign
B.12 months 1/8/25 – 31/7/25. Note these are all applicants not only on-call firefighters as we are not able to differentiate in our data. 672
C. We received 183 applications from people from an ethnic minority background.
D. In total we recruited 255 people of those 672 who applied during the 12 month period.
E. We recruited 54 whole time firefighters from ethnic minority backgrounds.
F. We do not hold information centrally on our employees’ qualifications.
