I write to request information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 in connection with fire safety records relating to this building. A query has arisen in which the lessee has asserted that fire officers have previously inspected the building and cleared the secondary exit door, and that this exit is not a designated fire exit for this flat. No documentation has been produced to support this assertion. As the responsible person under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 I require the following information to establish the correct position for my landlord files and records. Information Requested No. Information Requested 1 All records of fire safety inspections at the above property from 26 June 2000 to date, including inspection dates, the identity of the inspecting officer and the outcome of each inspection. 2 All records identifying the designated fire exits at the above property including any plans, inspection reports or schedules confirming which exits carry fire exit designation and the basis for that designation. 3 All records relating specifically to the secondary exit door including any inspection records, clearance certificates, advisory notices or correspondence concerning the status of that exit. 4 Any written or recorded confirmation given to any leaseholder, tenant or occupier of the property that the secondary exit is not a designated fire exit or has been cleared by your authority. 5 Any enforcement, improvement or prohibition notices issued in connection with the above property under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 or any predecessor legislation. If any information is withheld under an exemption please identify the specific exemption relied upon for each item and confirm whether the public interest test has been applied. I understand your authority is required to respond within 20 working days. As this request relates to a live property enquiry in which the fire exit status of the secondary door is a material issue I would be grateful for prompt handling within the statutory period.
