Request
Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, please provide the following information for domestic dwelling (house/flat) fires attended by your Fire & Rescue Service for each full calendar year 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024: 1. The number of domestic dwelling fires where the incident record or subsequent fire investigation explicitly identifies a solar photovoltaic (PV) panel/module as the primary or confirmed ignition source (i.e. the concluded cause of ignition). Please provide counts by calendar year. 2. The number of domestic dwelling fires where a solar photovoltaic (PV) panel/module was recorded as involved or present at the fire scene but where the panel was not recorded as the confirmed primary ignition source. Please provide counts by calendar year. 3. For any incidents where battery storage (including rooftop or ancillary lithium-ion battery systems) was recorded as the primary or confirmed ignition source in a domestic dwelling, please provide counts by calendar year and indicate whether the battery was part of a solar PV installation. 4. For any incidents counted in Q1 (confirmed primary cause), please provide a short summary (where available) of the investigation conclusion for each incident: month/year, brief cause (e.g., installer fault/wiring fault/thermal runaway/unknown), and whether an investigation report is publicly available (if so, please provide a link or reference).
