6) On what date were these cases sorted into categories?
This information is not held by the LFB as it was done by LPPA (Local Pensions Partnership Association) but, we understand it was prior to 31/03/2025.
7) How did you notify members that their RSS was delayed and on what date?
Members were notified by LPPA before 31 March 2025 deadline.
8) What is the expected timescale of issuing all outstanding RSSs?
There are still some outstanding complex issues with a small number of member’s cases but, the LFB and LPPA continue to work to ensure that these are processed as quickly as possible.
9) Has London Fire Brigade reported itself to The Pensions Regulator for a material breach of the regulations or if no decision has been made please state when it is likely to be made?
LFB has been in contact with The Pensions Regulator and reviewed guidance provided by LGA (Local Government Association) of reporting breaches. The LFB is monitoring the position and whether any breaches are deemed material, and will be reporting the position to the next meeting of the Local Pension Board in June.
10) Will London Fire Brigade compensate pension scheme members who did not receive their RSS by the statutory deadline?
No, the arrangements for the pensions remedy, including compensation, are determined nationally.
