Response
Please see our response to each of your requests in turn below:
1. The overall number of redundancies in the period (March 2008 to now) (noting whether this was on voluntary or compulsory terms)
There have been 389 FRS staff redundancies in the period from March 2008 to present. Unfortunately, centrally held records do not differentiate between compulsory and voluntary redundancies.
2. The number of occasions where section 8.4 (payment of any amount of additional pension) was enacted/provided for
Zero.
3. Where a payment was made in accordance with section 8.4, the ‘reason’ that this payment was made
Please see above, no payments were made.
4. Could you also please supply the details of whether, at any other time in this period (March 2008 to now), in accordance with any existing or prior Brigade policy or otherwise, a member of staff left the Brigade with ‘payment of additional pension’ included in their terms of departure, and what the reasons for such a payment were.
Not applicable, no payments were made.
