  1. A list of all Brigade attendances at the above premises, or at that address, in the ten years to the date of this request. For each attendance please provide the date, the incident type as recorded, and the number of appliances mobilised. I understand a fire occurred at the site in or around 2019 and would ask that the list covers that incident.

  3. The Fire Investigation Reports produced for the fires of 8 June 2026 and 18 August 2026, or, if either investigation remains open, confirmation of its status and the expected completion date.

  4. Any record of the cause of each fire as determined or provisionally determined by the Brigade.

  5. Any records held of fire safety audits, inspections, enforcement action, or advice issued in relation to these premises under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 in the last ten years.

  6. Any correspondence between the Brigade and the Environment Agency, or between the Brigade and the London Borough of Lewisham, concerning fire risk at these premises, from 1 January 2024 to the date of this request.

A full list of incidents attended by the LFB is published via the London DataStore and can be accessed via this link: https://data.london.gov.uk/dataset/london-fire-brigade-incident-records.

This dataset is updated monthly and contains further details of:

  • The type of incident (i.e. fire, false alarm, special service);

  • The date/time incident occurred;

  • The property type where incident took place (such as dwelling, commercial, car);

  • The location of incident (Borough, fire station ground, postcode, USRN, latitude/longitude);

  • How long it took first and second fire engine (pump) to arrive at incident;

The Fire Investigation Reports produced for the fires of 8 June 2026 and 18 August 2026, or, if either investigation remains open, confirmation of its status and the expected completion date.

Fire reports are exempt from disclosure under the FOI act via section 21 - Information accessible to applicant by other means. Detailed information about accessing a fire report can be found on LFB's website here:

https://www.london-fire.gov.uk/about-us/services-and-facilities/services-we-offer/incident-reports/

which should read alongside LFB's Information for which a charge is made policy.

Any record of the cause of each fire as determined or provisionally determined by the Brigade.

The information is recorded in a Primary Fire Report. Fire reports are exempt from disclosure under the FOI act via section 21 - Information accessible to applicant by other means. (Please see the details provided above about how to access a fire report).

Any records held of fire safety audits, inspections, enforcement action, or advice issued in relation to these premises under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 in the last ten years.

We do not hold this information, our Fire Safety Regulatory department have confirmed that they have no fire safety audit has taken place at this address in the last 10 years.

Any correspondence between the Brigade and the Environment Agency, or between the Brigade and the London Borough of Lewisham, concerning fire risk at these premises, from 1 January 2024 to the date of this request.

To locate any information held, I conducted an eDiscovery search for any email correspondence between all LFB user email addresses that included participants with an email address ending in ‘@lewisham.gov.uk’ or ‘@environment-agency.gov.uk’.

I initially used the direct search term of “Deptford Recycling Centre” which returned zero results so, I widened the search to include results for “Landmann Way”.  The search returned a small amount of correspondence between LFB, and both Lewisham Local Authority and the Environment Agency, relating to the waste management site.

Most of the correspondence is in relation to the fire incidents that took place on 08 June 2026 and 18 August 2026 and administrative emails arranging attendance at the site following the fires.

I have interpreted "correspondence concerning fire risk at these premises" to mean correspondence discussing fire safety concerns, recommendations, enforcement matters or other fire safety issues relating to the premises. Correspondence relating solely to operational response to the fires, incident management, media handling, or arrangements for site visits was considered outside the scope of the request.  As such, I have attached a copy of the only document which fell into this scope, a Senior Fire Safety Officer’s report sent to the Environment Agency on 24 August 2026 to this response (in the 'Documents' section below). Please note, personal data has been redacted from the attached document under section 40 of the FOI act – personal information.
